  • A former country of southeastern Europe consisting of Serbia and Montenegro, the last two remaining constituent states after Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, and Slovenia seceded from Yugoslavia in 1991. The name Yugoslavia was officially abandoned in 2003, and Serbia and Montenegro split into two independent republics in 2006.
